Stuart A. Carpey has been recognized for his Volunteer Pro Bono legal work as an attorney representing victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. Mr. Carpey represented two individuals who were seriously injured in the attacks. Thier claims were presented to the Federal Government as part of the Victims Compensation Fund.The program was called “Trial Lawyers Care,” and was the largest free legal representation program ever undertaken. ATLA honored the volunteer lawyers at its convention in Boston in July 2004.
