Who Is The Best Personal Injury Lawyer In Philadelphia?
It is hard to say who exactly the best personal injury attorney is in Philadelphia and in the Philadelphia area. Certainly there are some very good lawyers and some very good firms.
The best attorney today may not be the best tomorrow. Since “best” is a subjective term determined by peers, such as fellow attorneys, judges, present and past clients, testimonials, the size of settlements or verdicts and other criteria, judging the “best” attorney, or the “number 1” personal injury attorney in Philadelphia can be difficult. The task becomes sort of like judging the best quarterback on Monday following Sunday’s games.
I recall the best knee surgeon for a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) used to be Dr. Richard Steadman in Vail , Colorado. “Steadie” as he is known. All the professional skiers who tore up their knees went to him for the repair. He was innovative. He was the first to start rehab after the surgery almost immediately; within hours of the surgery the patient was moving his or her knee joint by utilizing a continuous motion machine (CMM). His surgical skills were excellent. This was 20 years ago. He grew a very successful practice. Now of course all sorts of athletes flock to his care.
When I tore my ACL 9 years ago I went to Dr. David Rubenstein at Lankenau Hospital. As far as I am concerned, he is the best. His surgical skills were and still are known to be second to none. Of course, within hours of the surgery I was on a CMM. Within days I was in physical therapy. I got a great result from the surgery and am back to all the sports I participated in before the surgery, including skiing.
It’s clear therefore, that “the best” cannot necessarily be determined at any fixed point in time. I wasn’t going to “Steadie” to have my ACL repaired. Geographic convenience played a part in who I chose to performed surgery on my knee. But, I also researched Dr. Rubenstein before I first went to the first office visit. (This as far as I am concerned should be a requirement for any accident victim before even thinking about hiring a person injury attorney).
The “best” in any field changes over time. Experience versus youth matters. Newly developed skills and knowledge matter, as do a variety of other factors. Clearly there can be more than one top personal injury attorney in any given area at any point in time.
